Driver Location Use | Urban Priority
This page explains how the Urban Priority driver app uses location for driver availability, dispatch and active delivery tracking.
1) When location is used
• Location is used when a driver chooses to go online and remains online.
• Location may continue in the background during an online session so dispatch, active jobs and customer tracking can keep working if the app is minimised or the phone is locked.
• Tracking is intended to stop when the driver goes offline or logs out, subject to normal device/network timing.
2) Why location is needed
• To show driver availability to dispatch systems.
• To suggest suitable jobs and routes.
• To support live tracking, customer support, proof-of-service checks, ETA accuracy and safety follow-up.
• To help protect direct/non-stop and priority service promises.
3) What location is not used for
• We do not use driver location for third-party advertising.
• We do not ask drivers to stay online when they are not available for work.
4) Driver control
Drivers control availability by going online/offline in the driver app. System-level location permission can also be managed in iOS or Android settings, but required location access may be needed to go online and receive work.
5) Support
Questions about driver location use can be sent to drivers@urbanpriority.co.uk.
